Choking

I was on this moving train or cart thing with Amanda, my best friend of 15 years. The cart slowed down at this buffet line, and Amanda very efficiently filled her plate with corn, mashed potatoes, rolls, etc., but I was unable to get my plate in time. So I jumped off the cart and ran back to where the buffet was and accidentally rammed into some guy who asked if I was okay and kept trying to hug me. I was more focused on the food, though, so I filled up my plate, then I heard Amanda choking in the next room. I dropped my plate to the floor and ran to where she was.

My whole family was just sitting around, watching her way too calmly. I tried to go to her to help her, but people kept holding me back, telling me that she was going to be okay and that I needed to stop screaming at them.

I really started to panic because I couldn't get to her, so I just kind of curled up into a ball and started shaking and sobbing, then after what seemed like forever, I heard Amanda say, "Hey, Schmal (my weird nickname), what's up?" and I looked up and she was fine. She looked a little confused as to why I was freaking out, actually. So that was weird.

This dream was not at all enjoyable.

Short People & Wal-Mart

So my husband was cleaning out his inbox recently and found this gem of an e-mail I wrote to him in June of 2013:

Hey, honey,

I had a dream we were on vacation (I think in Spain) and we were with a tour group who was going to go see a very tiny person. I guess like you might see at a circus or something, like she was apparently 3 feet tall and we would only have about five seconds to get a good look at her and it took forever to get there (we had to take several trains, walk like six blocks, etc.). And then we were late and almost didn't get to see her. We had to run across a very long room and then jump on a springboard and then we'd see her sitting in a box on stilts or some such. We did get to see her and actually spent time with her (She was a little grumpy, probably from being treated like a circus freak her whole life) and it turns out she wasn't even that short! She was taller than me! So I told her that and I think it cheered her up.

Then I had a dream I was at Wal-Mart with Aunt Becky and I had to get ready for work in the middle of Wal-Mart. And my dresser was in the aisles somewhere but I couldn't find it, so I was running late for work and it was raining outside and I put my shoes on before my pants on accident, so that wasted time. Then Becky kept asking if I'd help her hang flyers at all the Wal-Marts, but I kept saying I didn't have time because I was still in my jammies. Then some sales rep asked if I would taste test their rocky road ice cream, and I did even though I have never liked rocky road, and then I had to say to a cameraman what my review of the ice cream was and I said something along the lines of "smooth, chocolatey goodness." Then I finally found my clothes and got dressed for work. Then I actually woke up and got dressed for work.

Busted

I had a dream last night that I was at the airport because I needed to pick up Kyle (the hubs).  It was an interesting atmosphere -- at one point I think the airport was in the middle of a jungle. Anyway, I kept walking and walking and walking trying to get to Kyle's gate, and someone stopped me and asked, "How far do you plan on going?" and I responded with something along the lines of "Until it stops making sense" which, ironically, doesn't make much sense.

Eventually I came to a door, and when I opened it there was a tiny little two-seater plane. And the pilot gestured for me to get in, and it was understood that in order to get to Kyle's gate, I'd have to fly the rest of the way in this itty bitty plane. And I guess that is when I decided it no longer made sense to keep going, and I told the pilot I would just wait where I was for Kyle to get in.

So I turned around and found a computer and got on Facebook to pass the time, and my boss came up behind me and said "looks like someone is on Facebook during work hours!" and I said "...Yes, I am on Facebook." And she told me to log off and get to work, so I did.

That's all I remember...either that or that's when I woke up.
